"Due to an accident, the train towards Jurong East via Woodlands will be delay for 10mins..."

This was the "lovely" post-Easter message sent to me by the SMRT... One that had me totally thrown-off while I was busy reading the newspaper... How could that happen? Especially during this crazy peak hour? What went wrong to cause an accident? While my eyes kept on following the ticking of the clock, my mind was in a whirl... I am going to be so horribly late for the first time ever since I started my attachment in IME... And when the train that was bounded for Pasir Ris finally arrived, I had to push and rush my way onto the train... The crowd was really bad, as the delay lasted almost 15mins... But I was happy that everything was back to normal... Only to be shuffled off the train again at Jurong East... *@^#^YROWY$Y@#(&$... This could hardly express my fuming anger...

What was SMRT thinking? It was bad enough to pack a train with almost 3-4 train worth of people... And yet they had us all aligned at Jurong East to catch the incoming train from Boon Lay? The situation became worst once another train dropped off more passengers... The entire platform was filled with people who was desperately late for everything... And hence, the crowd went a little out of control when the train came... I was pushed around and almost hit the train... I had no idea where my footing was... Just hope that it would not ended up inside the stupid gap to spark off another new accident... I had to be rough towards whoever was trying to push me away... I am sick of having to wait for another train that would still be crowded... But soon enough, I realized my mistake...

I should had tried boarding the next train... As there was a sweating guy inside the sardine-packed train standing quite near to me... I am not trying to be rude or anything... It was just that the smell that he gave off made me very sick... I had to try to hold my breath throughout the journey... As that smell almost made me emptied my stomach... Luckily, the ride was only one stop long... Had it been any longer, I doubt I would be appearing for work... The only relief thing that prevented me from freaking out any furrther was that I managed to board a bus immediately after reaching the bus stop...

Hence... Today is definitely a disastrous day for me spelled with a capital "D"... Just my luck to be caught up in this unforeseen mess early in a Monday morning... All I could do now is to hope that this bad luck would not tag along for the rest of the week... I had enough to last a century... Haiz~ That goes my happy mood after the precious long weekend...

亚洲头号富婆 - 龚如心 “小甜甜” 在4月3日逝世。

To me, this should be like any other normal reportings on the paper... What caught my attention was the little write-up that the papers had done on her life... As the richest woman in Asia, her doings shocked me... She saved up on her spendings on everything... For instance, there was once when she had cut up a mooncake into 16 pieces before serving them to her guest with half a bottle of coke... To her, seafood feast was very expensive... And she was always drinking porridge with seasoned beancurb... She even went to the extend of packing the leftovers home if she was unable to finish them... Furthermore, she delayed her treatment for the cancer too... And it was rumored that this was the cause for her death... I could not understand why she had behave in this way...

It is good to be thrift... But the actions of 龚如心 were a little overdone... How could she be so stingy even when her welfare was concerned? Did she really love her money and wealth that much? So much so that she left this world without enjoying her rights? Maybe she was contended with just looking at the figures in her banks grow... But to me, it is silly to save up one's wealth without so much of spending it in areas needed... Not when the person in question was without any children to inherit her fortune... She had spent her life working hard to become what she was, and yet her life was not much better than the average people... She had, in my eyes, became a 守财奴... The worst that any person could be...

Everything I need to say was neatly summarized by the judge during the case where she fought over the inherit rights to her husband's fortune: “世人行动实系幻影。他们忙乱，真是枉然。积聚财富，不知将来有谁收取？” Afterall, money are something that one could never bring along after death... Spending it wisely and accordingly is what makes life on world more worthwhile... It would be meaningless to keep all the wealth like 龚如心... To me, her life was a really sad one... One that is even more miserable than mine...
