This is a story of a tragic love, set in the aerial city of Neo Verona. Tyranny rules this island in the sky after the Montague family took control 14 years prior. The disparity among the wealthy and the poor is apparent in the present state. The sky itself is wrapped in a deep dense fog. Both Romeo and Juliet's lineages are of present and past ruling families of Neo Verona. Romeo is the son of the current Montague dictator. Juliet (a beautiful woman) masquerades as a man (Odin), and she is the last descendant of Capulet, the previous rulers who were killed by assassins sent by Montague family 14 years ago. Her true background is not to be revealed to her until her 16th birthday while being raised by her sister. The cruel hands of fate introduces 2 people who will become "Star Crossed Lovers".
This had been a very classic story to be known among English Literature... A tragedy by William Shakespeare concerning the fate of two young star-crossed lovers... One famous play which I had read during my secondary school time... And so, I firmly believe that the anime adaption by Gonzo would be rather boring... As I had known the story too well to be surprised... But yet... After listening to the amazing opening theme by Lena Park and after watching the trailer, I am drawn by the quality and mystery that shrouded this new anime for Spring 2007... One of the gem hidden among the many good productions...
Seeing how Juliet fights for justice under the name of "Red Whirlwind", how Romeo unknowingly saved her while riding a horse that could soar through the air started the momentum for this love story... The meeting between them at the ball was incredibly beautiful... And I am totally owned by the arts and music... One very plus factor for any anime... Despite the fact that I think I know how the story would end... Sadly but truly, I would follow through this wonderful anime and cry myself a river for this pair of star-crossed lovers...
