I enjoyed the past four working days at PB... though was a bit dizzy from looking at the drawings and having to make some calculations to verify the feasibility of the electrical layout plus checking through hundreds of drawings to make sure tat everything were all right before sending them for construction... the staff down there are very friendly... and my boss is a very nice guy who just joined four months ago... in fact... my department consisted of very new staff as it was just set up recently... everybody learn together and work as a team without having to mind too much about crossing any lines... they are also very willing to answer my questions and teach me whenever they have the free time... but most of the time... I am just leave alone with my own task... they understand tat I am still picking up the skills needed... so they never really rush me unless necessary... but they would always show their concern when they leave or come back from meetings...

I must say tat I have to treasure this job... my initial position during the interview was for electrical engineer... but the interviewers felt tat I am more suited for ELV (extra low voltage)... I thought tat my chance was gone... and yet they really spoke to my boss and without any second interview... I was made an offer... it was only till late evening on my first day did I have a chance to speak to my boss for the first time... He told me tat the interviewers actually recommended me to him and he got a very good impression of me... even without meeting me (I wonder wat the interviewers said)... so he decided not to arrange for any more interview and directly have the HR made an offer... he did not mind tat I did not have the background... and told me tat he is also new to this department... and he encouraged me to stay pro-active and ask when in doubt... even if the questions might sound stupid as everyone are in the process of learning... but they would offer me any guidance based on their previous working experience... and hoped tat I would preserve no matter how stressful...

But with this new start where I get to participate in the IR project... I think I am blessed with the right conditions to advance my career prospects... though the starting might tire and stress me out as I work towards achieving the standards and pace... I would never regret having join a company where my major in NTU was not put in use... I hope tat all my friends out there are also fulfilling their own ambitions and goals... looking forward to meeting everyone for the first time since starting work during the convocation (^o^)...
