Title: タイヨウのうた
This is a very warm-hearted and inspiring movie... singer cum artist Yui debuted with this movie for her acting career... specially loved how sweet and natural she appeared on-screen... not only did she managed to charmed my soul with her voice (started to know of her from the songs she sang for Bleach)... she managed to rope me into her acting career...
She played the main character 雨音 薫 (Amane Kaoru), a 16 years old girl who suffers from xeroderma pigmentosum (XP)... this condition caused her to stay away from the sun... as any ultraviolet exposure could kill her... forcing her to only enjoy her life in the moonlight... she picked up guitar and composed songs... and every night she would perform in front of a deserted train station... the romance started when she began to notice and observed 藤代 孝治 (Fujishiro Kōji) from her room's window before the break of dawn...
One night, she plucked up enough courage and chased after 孝治 for a few streets before she managed to knock him down and confess her love to him... so sweet and innocent!!! Slowly... with more interaction... 孝治 also asked 薫 to be his girlfriend... only to have 薫 realized tat dawn was approaching and she was far away from home and in the open... watching how 薫 ran for her life broke my heart... and this made 薫 came to the conclusion of her not being able to enjoy a normal life and accept 孝治 as her boyfriend... and so began the heartbreaking period for the two young lovers...
But 孝治 made up his mind and decided to do something for 薫... by earning money and let her realize her dream of cutting a CD... and through this... 薫 picked up her confidence and enjoyed the feeling of being loved... till she finally succumbed to the symptom of her illness... paralysis in her hand... she no longer could play her guitar... but 孝治 managed to enlight her and she promised to sing for him... she eventually recorded her favorite song... but with tat also came the ending in which she left everyone she loved behind... with her song being broadcasted over the radio to remind everyone whom her life had touched...
