The past week had been rather tiring... due to the last minute assignments and trainings... a lot of rush to meet the deadline for the submission of packages... and then have to attend trainings conducted from 6pm onwards (in which I requested to leave halfway through on friday as it was 10pm and they were noway near end)... as a very experienced engineer left the team and he volunteered to teach us the packages that he used to handle... quite sad... though he would be coming back in Aug to work part time... it would only be 1 month... my immediate supervisor is also leaving in two weeks' time... the project might be a good profile for this field... but the stress and demands faced are unimaginable... one point that was proven on my first factory visit with my supervisor on friday...
Among the 10 guys, I am the only lady and a newbie... so much so that the other electrical colleague who attended mused that my supervisor was bringing me to a field trip to bathe in the sunlight... having seen me stayed in company as a back office support for too long... haha... but really... this trip made me understand a lot of working politics... everytime anything went wrong or some new issues popped up... the standard answer would be... "ask the consultants lor"... this happened even when the issues were not meant for us... the arrows always got deflected to our way... no wonder so many senior engineers left... and why my boss decided to keep me shielded in office for the time being... the outside world for this project is way too much for me to handle with my current experience... I would strive to be the best office backup in technical and production terms to help out those who have to brave the frontline (^o^)...

I am also scheduled to complete one online course in about 28 days... one on the "Standards of Ethical Conducts"... sounds very much like "Engineers & Society" rite... haha... every staff in the company have to go through a standard hours of courses every year... and my journey for that requirement just started... I was actually a bit shocked when I read the email... hope that I would be able to learn fast and finish the course soon... as the upcoming weeks would be seeing me handling a new set of responsibilities above my current job... wish me luck!!
